I’m sure quite a few of you have seen this photo on tumblr. Well just to clear the air this is myself (Allison) and my boyfriend (Andrew) we’ve been together since 02012010 (nearly a year) and we took this photo when we vacationed together to Lake Michigan. When returning home I posted it on my flickr, and within the next week a tumblr entitled “fuckyeahmakeout” jacked it, didn’t give credit, and instantaneously got well over 5,000 notes. Ever since then people fail to see us as actual people, they just see us as a photo. They’ve taken it and edited over it, typing things over it saying “Young Love Is Such Dumb Love” even putting their tumblr name in the corner. I’ve even seen people reblog off of “fuckyeahmakeout” and type “I bet they’re not even dating, this looks too professional, I’m sure this is just modeling” To me, it’s awful, and it hurts our feelings.
I don’t think it’s right that a tumblr can take photos from people, post it, and are too lazy to give out credit, or give the people in the photo a chance to share their stories. That’s why I love “fuckyeahkissing” and now for the first time, maybe you can see us as an actual functional couple, not just posing for a photo.Andrew and I have been nothing but big ball of happiness since we started dating. We were best friends when we were kids, and then re-met when we were older. In a jar we have coins and dollars, saving up for our first house. We call ourselves the “Frantic Romantics” because of how seriously we took our relationship so fast. I could go on for days, but if you want to hear our whole story you can go here;
